A chemical reaction that occurs when materials are combustible and oxygen mixed with the source of heat.
Example: Volatile gas from flammable liquids will flare up and cause fire if exposed to heat sources such as cigarettes, sparks or static electricity.

General Measures To Prevent And Control Fire Hazard

  • Install and provide facilities such as heat detectors and alarm in the workplace.
  • Keep flammable materials away from heat sources.
  • Conduct inspections in the workplace to identify and eliminate unsafe conditions or substances that can cause a fire.
  • Prepare the Site Emergency Plan for evacuation in case of fire.
