Illumination
The amount of light falling on a surface. Unit of measurement: lux (lx).

Luminance
Measurement of the quality of the surface, which is considered as the brightness.
Unit: candela per square meter (cd / m2).

Standard Quantity Lighting

The general background: 200 lux
Office work : 400 lux
Reading work : 600 lux
Working with VDU: 300 lux (normal) or 400-500 lux (high contrast level)

Common problems faced

1. Glare;
    - Directly from the light source.
    - Indirectly from reflective surfaces.

2. Shadow.

2. Use curtains or blinds on the windows to reduce glare.

4. Customize the layout of workstations.
5. Custom lighting like light location.
6. Modify the relevant surface such as walls, tables and so on.
7. Use partitions to reduce reflection.
