Scaffolding Safety


Scaffolding Safety - Scaffolding is a temporary framework built to facilitate and allows workers or construction workers carrying out work such as bricks, plastering, installing ceiling, paint and so on high ground safely. It can be built with a variety of methods and forms to suit different circumstances and places.

Here are some important things to consider for the safety of workers using scaffolding while working;
  • Scaffolding categorised into different types according to construction methods. It is usually categorised into low and high states of a building.
  • Installation of scaffolding must certainly be carried out by competent persons and shall be in accordance with specifications and design approved by a qualified engineer.
  • Scaffolding components used must be checked and verified to be safe and good to use before installing scaffolding run.
  • Periodic checks should be carried out to ensure the installation of scaffolding used by workers are safe.
  • The main contractor construction sites must make a risk assessment on the activities of construction work carried out and this will be extended to all sub-contractors involved.
  • The Contractor shall comply with the requirements of the regulations outlined by authorities such as the DOSH.
