Working at Heights



Working at height means work in any place where, if no precautions are taken, a person can fall from a height which could cause injury or worse, death. Working at height is one of the biggest causes of injuries and deaths in the workplace.

Hazard / Risk  of Working at Heights : 

  • Worker falls. 
  • Objects / equipment falling. 

General Prevention: 

  • Employees must be trained and competent. 
  • Confirmed healthy physically and mentally by Occupational Health Doctors.
  • To have attended the course "Working at Height" and;
  • Passed the evaluation of the course "Working at Height".
  • Use the appropriate steps/ladder. 
  • Use a safety harness correctly. 
  • Check equipment and utensils before performing tasks. 



Scaffolding 

  • Use the scaffolding which is still in good condition. 
  • Do not use a rusty scaffolding, broken and dented.
  • Not impose excessive weight. 
  • For scaffolds with a height exceeding 3 meters, it must be installed by a competent scaffold workers. 
  • Use PPE properly (use a harness with a life line attached)



A person involved must make the work planned, supervised and carried out by competent people with the skills, knowledge and experience to do the job. In addition, the right equipment must be used for work at height.
