Electric shock is very dangerous. Electric current can flow through conductive materials including water, but cannot flow through the insulating material, such as wood and plastic.
Action if the victim is still attached to the source of electric current;
- Screaming for help.
- Turn off the switch.
- Do not pull the victim with your bare hands.
- Keep the victim from the source of electrical current by using a wooden stick or plastic.
- Check breathing and pulse, if there are no signs, start chest compressions and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) immediately.
- Send her to a clinic or hospital for further treatment.
Action if the victim does not stick to the source of electric current;
- Screaming for help.
- Turn off the switch.
- Lay the victim down and elevate the feet, this will avoid any surprises.
- Check breathing and pulse, if there are no signs, start chest compressions and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) immediately.
- Send victim to a clinic or hospital for further treatment.
