Physical Health Hazards



Hazard is a source or a situation that could potentially cause harm in the form of injury or illness to a person, destruction of property, destruction of the environment or its affiliates.

Hazard exists in various forms such as:

- Physical hazards
  Example: noise, light, ventilation, heat stress, lighting and electricity.

- Chemical hazards
  Example: pesticides, solvents and heavy metals.

- Biological hazards
  Example: bacteria, viruses and parasites.

- Ergonomic hazards
  Example: Intermediate human and machine, position / posture work

- Psychosocial hazards
  Example: Pressure of work, relationships among employees in the organization, worked too long and the work shift.

- Environmental hazards
  Example: pollution, bad weather and lightning.

The topic this time will address issues relating to physical health hazards so that in the end we'll be able to:
  1. Recognize and identify physical hazards in the workplace.
  2. List of at least three physical hazard to health effects.
  3. Taking steps to control / reduce risk.
