Hazard symbols used for labelling hazardous materials. Hazard categories for substances and formulations marked with hazard symbols are divided into:
• Risk of fire and explosion (physical-chemical properties)
• Health risks (toxicological properties), or
• The combination of both on a single chemical.
Previously, the danger symbol is a black mark on an orange background. You've probably seen the old symbols indicating hazard explosive, oxidising, highly or extremely flammable, (very) toxic, harmful, irritant, corrosive or dangerous for the environment as follows.
This symbol is replaced by another symbol for the law on chemical classification and labelling have been recently changed. The new symbols are introduced, called pictograms, showing the same image but only a slightly different shape and color.
The newly created pictogram is like a symbol of hazard pictogram which reflect a serious long-term health such as carcinogenicity and respiratory sensitisation.
There is also a pictogram which means "Contains gas under pressure".
