Safety Officer Jobs - The duties of a safety officer is helping the employer or any employee to carry out of duties under the Act or any regulations made under the Act by the authorities. Below are some of the tasks to be done by someone called safety officer.
- Advise the employer or any person in charge of a workplace of the measures to be taken to ensure the safety and health of persons employed in the workplace.
- Inspect workplaces to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, materials, equipment or process or any other type of work used in the workplace, that could cause bodily injury to any person employed in the workplace.
- Investigate any accidents, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which occurs in the workplace.
- Helping employers or safety and health committee in organizing and implementing occupational safety and health programs in the workplace.
- Helping safety and health committee, in any investigation of a workplace for the purpose of examining the effectiveness of any measures taken.
- Collect, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which occurs in the workplace.
- Carry out any other instruction made by the employer or any person in charge of the workplace on any matter relating to workplace safety and health.
