Laboratory Safety - Health and safety is an important aspect of laboratory management.In order to ensure a secure lab environment, all parties who use the laboratory should be involved. The health risks should be reduced from exposure to chemicals and prevent accidents or injuries occurred.
The safety measures to be taken are as follows:
- The number of students in the laboratory should be in accordance with the laboratory capacity. Anticipate and identify the hazards and risks present in the laboratory.
- Supervision to students according to the instructions given, also not left to work alone without any supervision.
- Make sure each chemical is stored in a controlled or separated according to safety guidelines.
- Make use of the appropriate equipment / personal protective equipment.
- Make sure the lab is always tidy and organized and have a comfortable space to move.
- Make sure there are no obstacles in the way out of the lab.
- Food and beverages are prohibited in the laboratory.
