Electrical hazards

Electrical hazards - Physical hazard is the hazard of which related to energy. Hazard types include electrical hazard. The risk of accidents due to electrical hazard depends on how and where materials or electrical wire is used. (Eg wet areas and congested areas with power supply points are more at risk for the occurrence of the accident).

Electric power can injure and even kill. This can occur as a result of:
  • Contact with the material or live electrical wiring causing electric shock, burns and fire.
  • Wiring and electrical equipment that is damaged and can result in electric shock, burns and fire.
  • Material or an electric wire may ignite the sources where potentially flammable or explosive environments. The result is a fire or explosion.
Electrical Hazard Prevention Methods
  • Use electrical equipment that is appropriate and safe.
  • Use additional safety equipment to enhance the safety of the electrical system.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on the electrical system.
  • Trained and adhere to safe work protocols in use, operation or maintenance of electrical equipment and other electrical sources.
  • Perform wiring works only after obtaining a certificate or relevant competency.
